I didn’t know Scott as well as some, but what I know is, he was intensely devoted to his family.  He was always thinking of Diane, Jason and Jessica, and strived to provide the best possible life and surroundings for them.  

I grew up with Scott, 1st grade thru high school. I bought my suits from his dad’s men’s clothing store, which was the nicest such store within 50 miles. I had sleepovers at his house and he had sleepovers at mine.

We kept in touch thru college. The two of us plus another of his friends from Mizzou went to New Orleans to celebrate our respective college graduations. I visited him often in Kansas City when he got his first job at Cooper’s & Leibrand. We played Backgammon in his apartment, went to concerts and local pubs, and dreamed wheee our 1st careers would take us, what 22-25 year old friends.

Scott ended up in SoCal & I ended up in NorCal. Scott & another joint friend from Missouri flew to Oakland for a concert in 1994, The first time the three of us have talked in over a decade.

I believe Scott and Diane were married in 1995. Scott invited me to that celebration. It was beautiful!

I’d lost touch with Scott for the last 27 years. That breaks my heart. I’m on the reunion committee for our 45 year high school reunion this fall. While I’m devastated that Scott won’t be joining us in person, I’m quite certain he will be there in spirit. 

Scott is a person I’ll describe as the kindest, smartest, funniest, best dressed, most adventurous, most fun, least judgmental, full-package friend I’ve known.

Like everyone else I’m hurting now, but Scott’s memory will be with me until it’s my turn to go, at least we have that.
