Thank you for being one of the best and kindest bosses I ever had the pleasure to work with. I fondly remember the times we shared laughs and arguing with you to let us go home. You will be missed Senior. 

My dad, you’re twin brother still fills our house with stories of you’r guy’s childhood, and how naughty and reckless you guys were together. (Even though you were the smarter twin) you were amazing at wrestling and almost made nationals, but the only person your couldn’t beat, was my dad. Even though you are way taller and heavier than him, he probably beat you because he is the older twin  (well by like 4 minutes) Although we will never be able to feel you’re warm embrace, we still have the memories of you’re bellowing laugh, you’re high pitched voice when you get irritated, and all of the story’s.  We will never be able to fix the hurt we feel from the loss of you, but we can fill the hurt with joyful memories. You were so loved, and still are. we miss you so, so much. 

I am so happy that i got to spend time with you and got to know you the last year, you were taken to soon, and everyone misses you dearly, I hope you have found you’re peace in the afterlife, I love you so much.

From the first time I met you, you've had a special place in my heart.  From your contagious smile, your never ending pranks, your kindness and love you showed others.  Today  I see all those wonderful qualities in Lexi & Carolina.    
Shane, I'm so proud that you were brave enough to stand up for what you believe in and follow through with your great  service to this country.
My heart hurts for all you've left behind ,  I guess heaven needed a hero more & got one of the best.  . I know you are watching over your family.  Rest well Shane.

Shane probably didn't know how very proud his family was of him and how much he was loved, we fail to say it enough.  We cannot imagine the heartache you must feel.  Remembering the special impact Shane had on so many.  Wishing you comfort in the midst of sorrow, peace in the midst of pain and hope in the midst of tomorrow. With our love - Aunt Cindy, Gary, Tyler, Riley and Tony Maanum.

I am greatly saddened to hear of the Shane's passing.  I had the pleasure of coaching Shane during his High School Wrestling Career.  I was and continue to be so proud of him in his academic, athletic and career accomplishments.  Shane's quiet determination and perserverance in the face of much adversity is a source of inspiration for all.  I have regularily shared Shane and Dain's story as an example of striving for and achieving successes in the face of adversity.  Shane will always have a special place in my heart as he was a member of the first group of wrestlers to qualify for the Minnesota State Wrestling Tournament for me as a coach.  In doing so, he recorded one of the most astonishing wins I have ever witnessed as a coach.   Shane defeated an opponent he lost to in overtime a week earlier by Technical Fall (15 pts)....and he did it in about 3 minutes.  I often think that the Good Lord rewarded him that day for always doing things right. I will always have fond memories of Shane.  He was truly a shining light.  I extend my deepest sympathy to the family.   Greg Schmitz


Shane and Family: I do not how to share my thoughts right now. I never expected that call from Dain. I just do not know how can this be. Right now I have to reflect on my Faith. For me every Grace, every Kindness, every Generousity, every Forgiveness is Given from a Great God, a Greater Authority. Shane that is yours and given to all others. When I too will go, I will find you if our Great God should give me that privilege... Uncle mark...

Even though we didn’t see you a lot you were my uncle, and I always have the memories my dad would share about your child hood together. The wrestling, the recklessness, the love, making bombs and doing dumb things with my dad all of the stories I heard about your guy’s adventures will be with me forever. 

Not even sure where to start.  Even losing your father unexpectedly at a young age yourself I don’t think you could even imagine that you would also be called home so young.  I know you are with your dad watching over your family now.  

You always put everyone else first and would give the shirt off your back if someone was in need.  Always taking care of your family and never thought better of yourself than others.  You leave behind so many loved ones that will only have the memories and stories of who you are to cherish.  I am so glad that you recently had the chance to spend some time with Lexi (Dustin) and to meet your granddaughter before you were called home.  You were a very caring and honest person and lived your life of great integrity.  My heart aches for all that are left behind.


We will always miss you and cherish the memories of your love and caring , Shane.  We were ever so happy when you called.  It was so nice to hear your voice and enjoyed our conversations with you.
You will be deeply missed by your family and friends.  May God watch over your loving family.
