What a beautiful Celebration of Life you organized for Shirley.  I'm sure she was looking down from heaven with her big smile listening to all the wonderful memories!  I was in awe of all the people that called her Aunt Shirley, Mom, etc. She was indeed a special lady.  I will always be grateful to her for setting me up on a 'blind date' with her daughter and for the amazing friendship that developed right from that very first night at Friday's.  Also so very thankful we got the chance to re-connect. And please know, if you ever need to talk in the days ahead, I am only a phone call away.

After all these years that I worked for Shirley, I have a lot of good memories. She was a very kind, caring person to me and my daughter, and she was willingly to listen to me and give advice when it was needed. She would always worry about how we were doing and what was going on in our lives. I miss her so much but now I know that I have an angel watching over us.

Shirley was such a dynamic force in our Parish and Bible Study.  Her wisdom, positive attitude and knowledge of the bible was an inspiration to all of us.  I will miss her smile and hugs.

I will pick up in her place to assure Greg stays busy doing chores for us ladies, as she would have expectation of. Days will not be the same without the authority of & direction from Ms.S however we all know she had such a great time here with us and is continuing to do so in heaven. I was so saddened to hear of the passing of our friend Shirley. I was privileged to co-facilitate several bible studies with her at Nativity Church. Shirley had such a contagious and unashamed love for Our Lord!  I fondly remember her always positive attitude and gracious smile, ever-ready with a kind word of encouragement and practical wisdom.  She always spoke very lovingly of her dear family! I know that she will be greatly missed.

Aunt Shirley was a wonderful woman. I only met her a handful of times, but each time I was with her, she was fun company. Oh how I will miss my dear friend, Shirley!   Picture luncheon tables decorated with toys for tots instead of flowers, and you will see an example of her love, kindness and spirit.  We all have another personal advocate in heaven who will not be shy about asking Jesus to lend us a hand.  Thinking of her will always make me smile.

To all of Shirley's beloved family, Bob and I share your sadness at her passing.. Shirley is such a treasured friend who brought such joy into our lives.  This woman who was full of love for everyone.  We first met Shirley at Nativity where she was an usher and welcomed everyone with such joy.  She knew all about you in little time.  As much as she gave she got back.  Everyone would give her hugs she was such an example of the love God wants us to share with each other.  I know I will see her again in heaven, where I have no doubt she in in charge of welcoming all of us to heaven  God Bless you my friend.

Shirley was one of the sweetest, most loving people we (Jean and Lori Lutzker) knew.  When Jean was in Aviara, all of her friends sent cards, but Shirley was one of the few who came to visit, livening up Jean's day and reminding her of all the good times they had.  Shirley was also a fun loving person.  She went with us on a Mah Jongg Tournament in Palm Springs a few years back.  We had a great time and Shirley won the "Last" prize.  Shirley always had something uplifting to say.  And she loved Lori's peanut brittle.  We are so happy that she had some recently.  We will truly miss this wonderful person.   We send her family our love.

Dear Susan, Charlie & Family,  we met your Mom and her family at your pre-wedding party at your California home.  She was a lovely lady, full of life!  And obviously raised a great family.  Based on her obituary Shirley was a very active and christian lady.  Anyone who volunteers to help animals has a special place in Heaven & in our hearts.  May she rest in peace with our Lord. Susan, Charlie, Dan, and family - I feel your loss!  Susan, you and your Mom were such an important part of my life for such a long time.  I so remember Sandie, Shirley, and me going to northern Michigan for our get away.  Also having Shirley celebrate the new millennium with us.  Champagne and no power outages or end of the world . 
Susan please know how much she loved you and what an amazing daughter you are.  Having been through the breast cancer, diabetes, and the neck surgery, I know exactly how much love and caring you had for her.  She will be greatly missed.  I am so glad I was there to decorate her small Christmas tree last  year.  Please give yourself a hug.  God bless Charlie and his years of loving support!

Shirley was such a wonderful and caring person.  We have such fond memories of her; most recently dancing at Sean's wedding at "The Whiskey".  Our hearts go out to all of you.

Dear Susan and family,

Shirley was an icon at the Nativity Church, her smile and warm embrace were the first things to greet frequenters of the Sunday 7:30am mass. My children moaned if we went later as they'd miss her. Her simple faith was all too evident when we co-led our Bible study group. What it always boiled down to for Shirley was that Jesus loved her and was her Lord and Savior, and she loved Him right back and spoke to Him every day. That love and faith shone out in all that she said and did and was an example to us all. 

My heart goes out to you her family who will obviously feel her loss terribly, I pray for a drop of Shirley's strength and peace of heart to fill and sustain you at this sad time.

We will miss our dear Shirley, but have no doubt that she has a front row seat in heaven now. Until we meet again dear friend, save me a seat!

Shirley, you were an important part of my adult life.  You and Susan were there for me in my time of need and I hope I was helpful to you in the early issues in your life.  I remember so well your 65th birthday and as I approach that myself, I understand the significance.  You had a loving and caring daughter who went so above what is expected that I know you were able to be in this world longer than might have been expected.  Bless you for the struggles you endured and the love you had for all who knew you!  Rest in peace!!

Shirley was a pistol of a gal! She "took no prisoners" and lived on her own terms (We ALL should take note!).  Once when I was staying with her while Susan was at one of Palmers manners classes (I think he was earning his Master's Degree in Discipline actually...), Shirley refused to drink any fluids until I agreed to bring her potato chips!  Here she was - just recently home from the hospital -  and yet she wasn't going to consider choking down water - only ice tea WITH potato CHIP, OF COURSE! SHE CRACKED ME UP!

Also, she was a wizard at scoring free Jersey Mike's sub sandwich coupons for me!  I think she bullied the handsome owner/brothers into giving them to her when she saw then at church. I'll never eat a Jersey Mikes or crunch on another potato chip without thinking of her and smiling!

Aunt Shirley was very special to me. I am so glad I was able to see her at the 80th Birthday party. I have fond memories of visiting her in Grafton and Columbus. Susan and Dan and families, my deep sympathy for the loss of your Mom. She was a very special person. With love,

I hadn't seen her in years and she hadn't changed a bit! I will always cherish that time with her and all our families.

Aunt Shirley was such a bright and shining light. I can't think of a time that she wasn't positive, hopeful and determined. Her attitude about life was infectious and her love of family was so evident. I will cherish the last time that I heard her voice and will miss her terribly.    I loved your Mom as if she were my own ! Of course, she was so thoughtful that way, to make so many of us "orphans" feel like she was more than happy to be our substitute "MOM" ! One of my fondest memories of Shirley occurred after you (Susan) asked me once what I was doing the rest of the day. I replied I had to go to UTC to return many things, not looking forward to that at all !You said; "Let Shirley do it ! She always returns things for me and she would be happy to do that for you, too !" Well - I didn't take her up on it, but I knew then that I wanted Shirley to be my "girl Friday", my help when I needed it and she became that and much more ! Years later, I drove Shirley to an eye appt. at Shiley, and on the way home, she "taught" me how to take the 56 Bypass home on the 5, and I still use it to this day ! I've lived here since 1981, but Shirley taught me our freeway system ! To say Shirley was "smart" is an understatement! But mostly, more recently, I treasured our "talks". And, what I will miss most, is Shirley always gave me (and everyone!) a "good-bye" kiss - right on the mouth, in true Italian fashion! I will take that with me, now, as her gift, to always give a good, decent, good-bye kiss, in true "Shirley" fashion, to those I love and hold dear.
