Our family and community sadly lost an important member on October 15, 2022.
Sofia Castillo Juarez was the heart and soul of our family and the Lomita Village neighborhood. Sofia better known as “Nana” will leave a big gap in our community and will be sorely missed. Nana’s home was known to be a place of refuge where you could get a warm meal.
Nana was born to Micaela Osuna Altamirano and Vidal Castillo Palacios in Mexico, on March 10, 1926. Nana was the oldest of her siblings. She loved and missed her sisters’ dearly. Her sisters’ Alicia, Amelia, Rosita, Alejandrina are with her in heaven. Her baby sister Julieta is mourning her alongside the rest of our family.
She was the best mother to her children, Sylvia, Carlos (who is with her in heaven), Jesus (Chuy), Jaime, and Maria (Lupita).
She remains the best grandmother to her grandchildren, Sylvia (who is with her in heaven), Jenny, Cintia, Carlos Jr, Ernie, Annette (Nini), Jesusito, Cesar, Christy, Reina, Perla, Jamie, Juan (Chuyito), Victor, Richard, Sophie, Greg (Booboos), Robert and Michael.
Her 36 Great-Grandchildren and 12 Great-Great-Grandchildren will greatly miss her.
