Sadly, I came across Steve`s Obit while looking up some childhood friends.Steve was a close friend of mine back in the 70`s when he lived in Hyde Park,NY.I have many memories of him and the rest of the "Bard Parkers" during our youth.Cruising around in his Camaro convertible, listing to music on his rockin` stereo system (Vinyl of course) or just hanging out are some of them.Memories that last forever. My condolences.

I am so saddened to hear of Steve's death.  I knew him in high school in Hyde Park.  He attended the EYC at St. James church for a time.  He put together our play which I believe his dad had written.  He loved to jam boogie woogie in the fellowship hall. He was a kind, sensitive guy.  Rest gently with Jesus, Steve!

I knew Steve in Hyde Park, NY in the early 1970's through my brother Dave, who still lives in Santee, and who also previously lived in Mira Mesa.  I knew Steve was somewhere in San Diego, and just happened to look him up this evening, December 24, 2018, which I now know would have been his 65th birthday.

I love the photo of him with the "bird bath" margarita at an outdoor restaurant that I presume was in Old Town. Vintage Steve from my recollection, a man with a zest for life, and a "go-for-it" persona.

RIP Steve, and I wish the strength and love of God to his family on this first Christmas without him.

 I did not know Steven but Kat is a treasured friend of mine. I send all of 
you who knew and loved him my sincere condolences and my wishes that you will be able to take comfort in your memories and your faith.

Steven may you Rest In Peace. You were too young to leave this earth, but other plans were decided for you by a more powerful voice than ours .
  I remember you as a sweet and kind cousin of mine. Although my memories are of our youth , they are strong ones and I feel proud to hold them in my heart forever. We got along so well as first cousins.
   My heart goes out to your family. 

Steve  was a great person and friend.  I will always remember the Cinco De Mayo ski trips to Mammoth with all our friends.  Steve always reserved the best Chalet and ski in and ski out.  We had so many great memories.  Our last ski trip was several years ago to Aspen Colorado.  Daryl King and I had an amazing time with Steve and his knowledge of the resorts and restaurants in Aspen.    God bless my friend.

I am honored that I got to interact with Steve through my community volunteerism. He set a great example of what it means to be a member of your community. My deepest condolences to Steve's Family. I hope you find comfort in knowing that he touched so many lives around him, and will truly be missed. 

 With Steve Rivette's passing, the community of Mira Mesa, the San Diego theatre community, and I lost a good friend. Steve was a founding member of the Mira Mesa Theatre Guild, and active with the Mira Mesa Town Council's 4th of July Committee, and with the Mira Mesa Lions Club. The last time I saw Steve, he was in his element, announcing this year's 4th of July parade. Steve, we all miss you! It is going to feel really surreal coming to your funeral this Tuesday morning, but I will come with my heart full of fond memories, some smiles, perhaps even laughter, remembering our times together. You live on in the lives of all of us with whom you've connected.

Steven was a my closest male relative, my first cousin, the son of my mother Josephine's younger sister, my dear Aunt Barbara and my Uncle Murray, a great guy. I remember visiting them (and Richard, a toddler) in Newburgh, NY when I was a little boy. Murray had his Air Force uniform on, if I remember correctly, which is doubtful. Later, they visited my family several times in Larchmont and Mamaroneck, NY. Steven was always smart, likable and athletic. Later, I learned he was a hockey player, like me, which I had not known. I think, and my memory is again foggy, I visited him in San Diego  in the 1980s and we went to the famous zoo, nearby canyon country, Disneyland, and had a real Mexican dinner in Tijuana. We toured the area in his car and I was amazed at how articulate he was, speaking in perfect full paragraphs! Needless to add, I was very saddened at his passing. We will all miss him.
