Surekha Chauhan, beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully, at home, on December 22, 2023. Born in Surat, India, she moved to the United Kingdom as a teenager, and then to Canada in her mid-twenties. A decade later, she made San Diego, California her permanent home. Surekha was a dedicated educator in the Chula Vista school district, working with children with disabilities, for over 20 years before retiring in 2018.
A funeral service will occur Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 10:00 AM at El Camino Memorial - Sorrento Valley, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121. In lieu of flowers, we request a donation to the American Lung Association.
She is survived by Natwarlal (Nat), her husband of 53 years, son Paresh (Karen), daughter Hazel Raja (Jayesh), grandchildren Natasha and Ashikhi, as well as extended family.
