Susan Nantege

She was born in Kampala, Uganda on March 8th, 1987 to the late Resty Nassaka and Peter Benjamin Mulaalira. Susan attended Makerere University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality. While in Uganda, Susan pursued her passion for music, sharing her beautiful voice with the world. Later, in 2010, she moved to China to teach English and eventually established her own school. Susan then came to the United States in October 2016. After a four-year tenure in Pennsylvania, she joined the United States Navy, inspiring her move to Encinitas, California, where she met her fiancé, Joey, in 2020. Susan enjoyed writing music, traveling, camping with her family, watching TV with Joey, cooking for her family, and playing with her daughters.

Susan is preceded in death by her father, Peter, and mother, Resty. She is survived by her fiancé, Joey, children, Sellah Rose and Saige Wessali, and her siblings Ivan, Lydia, Prossie, Richard, Henry, Allen, and Brian.

Arrangements have been entrusted to El Camino Memorial in San Diego, California. A Celebration of Life will be on Thursday, January 25th at 1:00 pm, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 pm at El Camino Memorial – Sorrento Valley. A reception will follow at 3:30 pm at Joey and Tage’s home in Encinitas, CA.
