It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susie Salazar, who left us on December 24, 2024, at the age of 80. Susie was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend whose presence filled every room with love, laughter, and warmth.

Born in 1944, Susie was the cherished daughter of hardworking parents, whose values of perseverance and dedication shaped her into the incredible woman she became. She admired them deeply and always carried their lessons with her.

As a mother, Susie’s love for her two sons knew no bounds. She devoted her life to raising them with care, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to their happiness. Her pride in them was evident to all who knew her, and she adored every moment spent with her five grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

Christmas Eve was always special in Susie’s home. Every year, she opened her door to friends and family, creating a space where laughter, joy, and warmth reigned. Susie’s holiday gatherings will be remembered for their fun, food, and festive spirit—she was the heart of the celebration, and her memory will continue to be part of the holiday traditions for years to come.

Though she embraced the playful nickname “The Crab,” Susie was always up for a good time, bringing people together whether it was sailing on the open water or retreating to Warner Springs Ranch for a much-needed getaway. A drink in hand and a story—often with a touch of inappropriate humor—Susie’s infectious spirit was unmatched. Even in her final week, her sharp wit and sassy comebacks, peppered with colorful language, reminded everyone around her of her indomitable character.

Susie is survived by her two sons, her five grandchildren, and a host of family and friends who will continue to celebrate her life and keep her memory alive. In her passing, we find comfort knowing that her spirit will forever be a part of every holiday, every family gathering, and every good time shared with loved ones.

Rest in peace, Susie. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
