I am so saddened about Susan. She was a wonderful woman. She had more energy than people half her age and always tried to make everyone feel comfortable. I am sorry I could not attend the funeral because I’m an RN in the Emergency Dept. at Sharp C.V. medical Center and was needed at work that day, but I was thinking of her. Susan and I became friends immediately after I moved into her building and we talked via text until close to the day she was moved into ICU. She was a kind, thoughtful person and she loved to talk to my daughter when she would come visit during breaks from UC Berkeley. Susan would tell her how proud she was and how important it was for woman to have a good education. When my daughter Morgan graduated in May and moved in with me while looking for a job during COVID , Susan would tell us she was praying for Morgan to get a good job. Right before Susan became ill, Morgan informed her she had been hired at UCSD in the Neuropsychiatry Dept to do research on the aging brain. Susan was delighted and said she had been praying for this and said she was as happy as if it was her own daughter! I will miss seeing and talking to her. The world has lost one of the most decent women I had the pleasure to call a friend. May God bless Susan and the entire Yeun family. Sincerely, Shauna Stanfill

Dear Tim, Alex, Matthew and Michael:
We surely miss Susan's presence. As testimonies given, she touched many lives and enriched them all. She was very kind and helpful person. She helped when needed without any hesitation. She stood by to do the translation for my sister at any time. She said "I could jump to the hospital in no time". With her encouragement, my wife became actively involved with the Cantonese Fellowship at CEC, and the Cantonese choir. Her kindness nurtured our friendship. Her generosity made their home a hospitality hub for many church activities. Her devotion to Pacificaires / Cedar Center Choir contributed greatly to their success. Words cannot adequately express the immense impact Susan had in all our lives. We know she is resting in God's embrace. May all the wonderful memory of her legacy comfort you in this difficult time, Anthony and Annie Louie

Dear Yeun Family:
I found this photo among my archives when I was in charge of putting together the church's 30th Anniversary slideshow. It was taken during CEC's 10th Anniversary harbor cruise around San Diego Bay. I don't remember who took the photo. Sorry the picture quality is a bit fuzzy.

Susan was the person through her I joined the Pacificaire/Cedar Choir many years ago. I will always remember her smile and her gentleness toward people around her. She was always generous in helping others. I will miss her very much. Can't believe that she will not show up in the choir rehearsal when things get back to normalcy. The choirs are not quite the same without her.

Our deepest condolences to the Yeun Family!
We treasured one memory of Susan when she was the Preschool Sunday School teacher for our two girls when we first moved to San Diego and attended CEC. She graciously offered to be the first babysitter for our girls at 2 & 3 when we had a company event to attend and did not know anyone in San Diego at that time. As a loving and caring teacher, she was instrumental in helping our children to adapt in their new home. We are forever grateful for her role in molding our children’s faith at a young age!
Our hearts grieve with your loss! May God’s loving arms embrace you with His peace and comfort!
In His love and ours,

Mrs Yeun has always been a friendly, outgoing greeter that made me feel welcomed to her home, to church or wherever I saw her. She would warmly greet me, ask how I'm doing and how my parents are doing. I always appreciated how she cared about others and helped them feel seen. Thank you.

Susan was totally devoted to her family; she lovingly managed all phases of her sons' physical, educational, spiritual, and emotional needs. She could be a tiger when it came to protecting and defending her children! She gave her love abundantly and without thought of her own convenience or comfort.
This love and concern extended beyond her family, to all she met. She would note the preferences and favorites of various people.
I admire her later interest in singing and taking up voice lessons and her beloved choir! She was a hardworking, savvy lady who would face any challenge! I was always amazed how she personally managed all the properties and dealt with difficult situations. She wrote the book on multitasking.
I was truly blessed to have known her.

I met Susan in junior high school. We weren’t very close at that time but I always remember her name which meant “ little apple” in Chinese. Times gone by and I got to see her again at our reunion cruise in 2017. She is such a warm, knowledgeable and caring person. I like her a lot. Now that she’s gone with heavenly Father, I’ll miss her. But I am sure we’ll meet again someday.
My condolences to the Yuen family, may God comfort you all for Susan’s home going. With love .

I know Susan in our youth. I know her always as 馬小蘋! She was the kind of person that you always remember; even after half a century of absence from each other’s life! Sincerity and consistent kindness radiated from Susan. My husband and I really enjoyed her company during our last reunion cruise. Susan will always be in our mind! Til we meet again! 💞

Dear Timothy, Alex, Matthew and Michael,
Please accept our deepest condolences. We are so sorry for your loss. Susan was a wonderful woman who will always be remembered for her love of her family. She was an incredibly affectionate grandma, always patient and gentle with her grandchildren, who adored her as unconditionally as she did them. One of our fondest memories is of Susan sitting on her kitchen floor, holding Emy and singing to her. She was a wonderful mother-in-law for Stephanie, treating her as her own daughter. She brought so much joy and love to the world and to the people around her, and she will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May God's love give you strength and comfort during this difficult time.

Dear Timothy, Alex, Matthew, and Michael,
I am so sorry and heartbroken for your loss. Susan was a wonderfully warm woman who was incredibly generous with her love and kindness. I still remember visiting your home for Christmas when my parents were traveling in Hong Kong. Susan really made me feel like part of the family, giving me a thoughtful and completely unexpected Christmas present and welcoming me with such graciousness and love. It was this gentle thoughtfulness and warmth that she shared with everyone around her, and I feel incredibly grateful to have known her, and for the love that she has shown Stephanie, Alex, her grandchildren and also my parents. Susan brought an amazing amount of love and light to the world and we are all so lucky for it. I am thinking of you and hoping your memories of Susan comfort you and bring you peace.

I met both Tim and Susan at Cal Poly. She is one of dearest sister in Christ. During that time, we had so much fun together as a group. Tim’s apartment was named Chicken Porridge House.
When I graduated from Cal Poly, I got my first job through an employment agency. I need to pay the agency one month salary in advance. Susan lent me the fund without hesitation. Many of her actions reflected Christ in her.
Will definitely miss her!

Dear Mr. Yeun, Alex, Michael and Matthew,
I am so sorry for the passing of Mrs. Yeun. She was such a wonderful and sweet lady. She and Mr. Yeun would always greet me with a smile in between services at church. She was a blessing to many of us at CEC. I will miss her.
During this most difficult time, may you find comfort, peace and strength in our Lord Jesus. He said in John 16:33, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." Indeed, death does not have the final say on all those who trust in Jesus. Jesus has overcome the world for us including death. We are confident that Mrs. Yeung is at peace in the arms of Jesus right now. May our loving and gracious Lord continue to fill your heart with much love and peace.

Susan and Tim became part of our family when Michael married our daughter Melissa. We were so happy to meet and get to know Susan and Tim, as we shared the love of God, our children, our cultural background, and travel. Susan was such a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. We were fortunate to travel with Susan, Tim, Mike and Melissa to Hawaii in 2019 where we shared the love of the Islands and its food. We particularly remember that Susan loved to have fresh papaya in the morning and was always up for a bowl of hot ox-tail soup.
We are so saddened with Susan’s passing as we will greatly miss her, but we know that she is in heaven watching over her Tim, Alex, Matthew, Michael and their families. Our love and heartfelt condolences to the Yeun family. May your wonderful memories comfort and sustain you through this difficult time.
Love,

Susan Yeun is my dearest friend, who I met when we were in High School together. I miss her. She is a good wife, a good mother, a good friend, and a good Christian. She always takes care of others first before herself. I have so many good memories of her in my mind when I think about her. She is a real blessing.
The last time I met her was in the summer of 2018. I had a family reunion in San Diego. My daughters, son in law, grandson, and I stayed in her house for a few days before our family reunion. I still remember that she prepared such an extravagant breakfast for us even though she was very busy. She also took us sightseeing around La Jolla.
Now she is in heaven. I am sure God will say to her, “Come in and enjoy! You have done a good job!”

I first met Susan about sixty years ago when we sat next to each other in our second year of junior high school and I noticed how talented she was in drawing, singing and mathematics. The next year she immigrated to San Francisco with her family, and I remember the special farewell dinner that we had for Susan. It was a rainy night, but we had a lot of fun celebrating our friendship while feeling sad that Susan would be leaving for a very distant place. After dinner, we took a photo of the three of us in a photo-shop to cherish this memory. '
A few months later, I received a letter from Susan with a brand new US$10 dollar bill. I was thrilled with the warm letter and the unexpected gift! Since then, we have had many exciting reunions and cherished conversations, continuing to build our friendship over the years.
Susan has always been such a loving, hard-working, compassionate, and giving person. She brought so much joy and precious memories to me. I really miss her, but have faith that we will meet again. Her journey through life left footprints of kindness and love, courage and compassion, humor and inspiration, joy and and faith. It is a life well-lived and pleasing to God. I pray that Tim and Alex, Mathew, and Michael and family are comforted with precious memories of Susan and for God's presence to care for you and your family in your loss. With heart-felt condolences.
