After knowing each other a bit at Concord High School, Tom and I ended up as "Odd Couple" roommates in college....except we were both Oscar.
In a cramped room with a double-decker bunk bed there were two desks. For the first semester his was covered with greasy Harley-Davidson parts and mine with a messy pile of orchestra parts. My best memory is of a road trip the two of us took in his father's big old black Cadillac, the kind that looked like a battleship with fins. We went down to the outer shore of Maryland, slept a night on a beach woefully unprepared, and then drove up into the Adirondacks, where after a furious attempt to score trout, he succeeded in a trophy fish a full four inches in length. Somewhere I have that picture. He was one of the funniest people I've ever known. I'm touched to know he spent most of his life with Elizabeth, a lovely person whom I remember from those crazy years in the sixties. Amazing to think that his mother often taught as a substitute teacher in my elementary school in East Concord!

I am saddened to hear of Tom's passing and wish to express my condolences to the family. 
We shared a home room or two at CHS as well as some classes and even though it was a long time ago, I have always remembered Tom as a kind and caring individual.

So saddened to hear of Tom's passing....remember him well from CHS and from  gatherings at his parents' home...my sincere condolences to Betty, Jane and family for their loss.

Dear Elizabeth and family please accept my sincere condolences for your recent  loss of Tom. I was very saddened to see that he had passed and from such a devastating disease. I had French Class at CHS with Tom. I remember what a nice gentle guy he was. So smart and a leader of our  class. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Tom Enright entered my life before I can recall since it was at a very early age. As the story goes, while visiting my grandmother at 78 Pillsbury St. in Concord, NH, Tom would arrive to visit his future wife, Elizabeth  on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. To keep me entertained and from becoming to much of a nuisance he would place me on the  seat and let me pretend to be riding in the wind.
A number of years later, Tom would become my uncle and as I would discover not just a highly acclaimed math professor but also a skilled furniture maker. He would eventually settle down in San Diego, CA where their son James would be born and raised, Tom teaching at UC San Diego. He would continue his career as mathematics professor, theorist, lecturer, and writer until the devastating effects of an incurable disease would eventually cause his early departure. Tom Enright will be dearly missed by me but will remain a positive influence and inspiration for the remainder of my time here.  The path of which Tom walked is that of the true and noble as highlighted in God's word the Holy Bible:
Isaiah 57:2
 "Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death."
