Thomas was born on March 26, 1932, in Roanoke, Virginia, to Jananey Malouf and Joseph Habib Herbert Milan. He was the youngest of five brothers and one sister, Joseph (Evelyn), Ellis (Georgette), Herbert (Mary), Richard (Elsie) and George (Doris), and sister Louise (Nicholas) Nassir. On April 30, 1955, he married Elaine Marie Meena in Saint Nicholas Cathedral, Los Angeles, California.
Growing up in Roanoke Virginia, Tom helped with the family business, Milan Brothers Tobacconists, established in 1912 as “The Ideal” which is still open to this day as Milan Tobacconists under new owners. The original store had a grill and Soda Fountain typical for the time, and as a teenager, Tom learned to be a short- order cook for the visiting soldiers and sailors who frequented Roanoke. He also attended Jefferson High School and then in 1955 served in the United States Army until honorably discharged. He moved to Los Angeles in 1955, where he studied at Pasadena City College, California State University and University of Southern California. In 1966 he began working for Hoechst-Roussel Pharmaceuticals as a pharmaceutical sales representative, where he remained as one of their top salesmen until his retirement. In 1979, Tom and Elaine moved to “the Cays”, Coronado, where he and Elaine lived out their remainder of their days.
Throughout his life Thomas enjoyed boating, skiing, tennis, camping, fishing and motorcycle riding. The family had many fun adventures at Mammoth Mountain, Marina del Rey and Lake Mead.
He is survived by his brother Richard, son Jeffrey Michael, daughter Jacqueline Marie (James) Deas, two grandchildren, Daniela Goldsberry (Shaun Farrington) and Joshua Michael Deas, and two great grandchildren, Eli and Valentina
