Van Thanh Nguyen

Van Thanh Nguyen was born on September 1, 1944, and grow up in SaiGon, Viet Nam in a family with 9 siblings. After graduating from high school, he joined the South Vietnamese military as an airborne infantry officer and fought during the Viet Nam war. After the fall of South Viet Nam in 1975, he was captured and sent to military encampment.

Van met his lovely wife, Kim Dao Ngo, while working in Can Tho, Viet Nam. They married in 1974 and have two daughters and two sons.

After his release from encampment, Van was offered to resettle in the US through the Orderly Departure Program for Former Re-Education detainees (HO). Van and his family settled in San Diego, California as their new home in May 1991. He worked tirelessly in the next couple decades to provide support for his wife and four young kids.

In his retirement, Van traveled many places around the world and the US. In his leisure time, Van enjoys reading, gardening and handy work around the house. He always deeply cares about his children and grandchildren.

Van passed away peacefully in Palomar Hospital San Diego, California on September 17, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family. He was 80 years old. Van survived by his wife of 50 years (Kim Dao), daughters Kelly Lan and Jennie Mai, sons Danh and Hung Anh, and nine grand kids.

Funeral Service will be held on September 24, 2024, guest visit times are 11:00am - 1:00pm at El Camino Memorial-Sorrento Valley, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121.

Chồng, cha, ông nội, ông ngoại, của chúng tôi là: Ông Nguyễn Thanh Vân, Sinh ngày 1 tháng 9 năm 1944 Dương Lịch, Sài Gòn, Việt Nam. Từ trần ngày 17 tháng 9 nam 2024 Dương Lịch. Nhầm ngày 15 tháng 8 năm 2024 Âm Lịch, tại Palomar Hospital, San Diego, California, Hoa Kỳ. Hưởng Thọ 80 tuổi.

Chương trình tang lễ sẽ được thực hiện theo nghi lễ Phật giáo tại El Camino Memorial-Sorento Valley 5600 Carrol Canyon Rd, San Diego, Ca 92121
