Vincenza Siragusa passed away in Spring Valley, Ca on November 27, 2018. In spite of our fractured, grief-stricken hearts, we are emphatically grateful for the tenderness of her hospice nurses and caretakers that delicately ensured her peaceful transition into an eternal reunion with her husband (Francesco), parents (Vito and Anna Calia), and brothers (Vincenzo and Antonio).
Vincenza was born in Sicily, Italy on November 18, 1932. In 1966, Vincenza (Enza) entered New York harbor to find a better life for herself, her husband, and her children (Roberto, Cathy, and Anna). In time, Enza and her husband relocated their family to San Diego, where she continued to pursue her specialized trade as a seamstress, raised a family with her husband, and witnessed the births of her grandchildren (Peter, Daniella, Frank, Alexandria, Mikaele, and Austin) and great-grandchildren (Aaden and Nora). Enza is also survived by her Sister Paola who remains in Sicily with her children. The memories and legacy of her abundant love will persist in our hearts and minds for many years to come.
The family wishes to thank Yvonne Siragusa for opening her home and heart to Enza in her time of need; and the additional adoring support provided by Vito and Theresa Siragusa as well as their children and spouses (Cathy, Anna, Steve, David and Jackie).
Viewing will be held at Goodbody Mortuary in San Diego on Monday, December 3, 2018 from 4pm – 8pm, with a Rosary at 6:30pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Our Lady of The Rosary Church at 9:30am. After Mass, the burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery. All are welcome to join us at a post-burial luncheon and gathering at Our Lady of the Rosary Church’s upper-level banquet hall to celebrate Enza’s storied life.
Ciao gioia, non sarai mai dimenticata.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting tribute donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation and Alzheimer’s Association.
