Virginia Fogata Isa

Virginia Mayo Fogata Isa, age 69, of Vista, California, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Virginia was the first daughter of Mr. Pascual Padua Fogata and Mrs. Cecilia Movilla Mayo Fogata. She was born and raised in San Narciso, Zambales, Philippines. After finishing her secondary education at Magsaysay Memorial College, she moved to Manila to work as a saleslady at a little store named Three Kings. She had a strong ambition to come to the U.S. and when the opportunity came from her boss, she made sure she didn’t take it for granted and as many years passed,she never forgot those who helped her.

When in the U.S. she worked as a babysitter in Los Angeles before moving to San Diego, where she took jobs at Hewlett Packard and Sony, making many longtime friends. She eventually became a Pharmacy Technician before becoming a homemaker and retiring. As the eldest and only sibling in the U.S., Virginia worked hard to support her parents and younger siblings in the Philippines, while raising her only daughter, Adele.

When she wasn’t working to provide for her family, Virginia loved shopping for the best sales, gardening and harvesting fruits/vegetables, and listening to/singing all kinds of music. Virginia was kind, caring, and compassionate, always putting others before herself. She brought joy and laughter to those around her and always showed her support for others. She was the type of person to make friends anywhere and treated others like she knew them for years. She was an amazing mother who made sure her daughter had everything to grow up to be strong and independent. She was also a second mom and best friend to many.

Virginia is preceded in death by her brothers Ramon, Felcar and Ben, father Pascual, and mother Cecilia respectively. She is survived by her daughter Adele, and her siblings Julian, Mercedes, Daniel, Tony, Ernesto, Violeta, and Marites.

A public visitation will be held on July 6, 2023 at El Camino Memorial Chapel, followed by a Funeral Mass at Good Shepherd Catholic Church on July 7, 2023. Livestream will be available.
