Wilhelmina Perono

Born in Banga, Aklan, Philippines on January 28, 1934, she was the second of six children of Anastacio and Anastacia Rowan. She attended college in the Philippines where she achieved a degree in nursing. She was a nurse in Canada, Chicago, Oakland and most recently at UCSD where she worked in the OR for over 20 years.

She enjoyed traveling, baking, shopping and spending time with her family. She was a soft spoken, kind-hearted person who was tough when she needed to be. She always kept a smile on her face, even after her stroke, which always brightened up her family’s day.

She is survived by her sons Michael and Lemuel. Lemuel’s wife, Julie Anne, and their son, Lincoln. Her sisters, Rosalinda, Sylvia and Virginia. She was predeceased by her husband, Cleto, in 2006.

The funeral service will be held on August 25, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8200 Gold Coast Drive, San Diego, CA 92126 with interment at El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121. The viewing will be held on August 24, 2016 from 4-8 PM at El Camino Memorial Park.
