William was born on June 28th, 1935 in Nyack, New York and grew up in nearby Rockland County. He was the son of Mary and Michael Klopchin. While growing up in Rockland, he displayed an early aptitude for volunteering around the community and local church as well as playing multiple sports. Believe it or not, his nickname was “Willy the Wisp” and during his time in school, he established many cross-country running records, and two of his records still haven't been broken.
On July 1st, 1960, William married the love of his life, Rose Marie Bonita, and they embarked on a remarkable journey together. Their union was marked by love, support, and countless cherished moments. Together, they raised three children, instilling in them the values of kindness, faith, hard work, perseverance and a thirst for knowledge.
William was known for his warmth, his sense of humor, and his unwavering love for his family and his faith. He had an infectious smile and a kind word for everyone he met. He was a devoted father to Will, Cathy, and Pat, a loving grandfather to Johnny, Nicole, Marissa, Isabella, and Jacob, great grandfather to Dominick and Mia, as well as a loyal friend to many.
In his later years, William dedicated his time to his faith and love of God and became a Deacon, ordained in 1986. He served at Our Mother of Confidence Church for over 30 years, making a positive impact in the lives of many. He was a source of strength and support for all who had the privilege of knowing him.
William’s Legacy is one of love, faith, kindness, and relentless pursuit of knowledge, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace and forever in our hearts.
