I was very blessed to live and grow up with Bill, Pat and Bob Lane since I was 5 months old. Growing up with the Lanes was always meant one never knew from one day to the next what would take place that day in Brooklyn but it was always fun and took some good guessing to figure what the days event would bring. Regardless of the outcome our family stuck it out be it the good or the bad times (mostly good) and always bounced back. Bill came a long way from his days in Brooklyn and they were his best years, not only to our family but to all that got to know the REAL William Lane. I cannot count the number of families that Bill assisted in getting help for family members who needed help with recovery. He was a fantastic husband, father, grandfather and brother to Pat, Bob and I. He will be missed by many for his patience, maturity and mostly for the big smile he carried with him. My last memories of Bill was him running down the boardwalk pushing his grandkids in the stroller to Starbucks for his morning pick me up. Maxine and my sympathy to Carol, Bill Jr, Kathy, Drew and of course the two grand kids that kept him going and going which we all know he loved. Rest in Peace Bill till we all meet again. God Bless, Larry & Maxine

8 years ago I had some business with Bill and over the phone he was an ace and the job went off without a hitch. A total professional after that gig we met in person a few months later and he saw fit to befriend me a little known Canadian interventionist from Montreal. We would meet at many conferences in the years to come and he taught me to work the lobby not the floor and that the mountain did in fact come to Bill .his kinetic energy was spectacular and contagious , generosity and kindness were inspiring and you’ll hear it said time and time again he made you feel special. Aurevoir Billy thank you for the glimpses of how to remain honerable and giving in the recovery business. And for showing me that true feeling is worth a damn . for the love and the memories it’s wintertime in my heart without you. I miss you.

Dear Cathy,
Gina and I were so sad to hear about Bill. He was a good friend and mentor. He always had a big smile and hug for me each time we meet. He always loved talking about you, Owen and Brooklyn. I loved how his eyes would light up. We send Love to you and all of your family. I will miss him. Thank you for sharing him with me over the years.
