

Woody lived in the Casa De Oro area of Spring Valley. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and at 18, relocated to San Diego where he tried his hand at various jobs. He began to learn how to fly airplanes and repair large appliances, eventually opening his own successful appliance repair business on Campo Road in 1964. He served San Diego County through Balboa Appliance until he retired in 1991. He then enjoyed woodworking, volunteering at Children's Hospital, and meeting with friends.
Woody is survived by his wife Cathy of 66 years (whom he met in Cleveland at a polka dance); children Lenny (Linda) Bole of La Mesa, CA, Barbara Lynn (Brian) McMurdo of Valley Center, CA, David (Marilyn) Bole of Enumclaw, WA, Sherrie Lavelle of Silver City, NM; grandchildren Calen, Brett (Missy), Torey, Micaela, Jessica (Chad Collet), Ashley, Andrea, Evan; great-grandsons Hunter and Parker Collet.
Woody and Cathy were the best dancers at any party! Woody loved music, animals, the San Diego Padres, working with his hands, and being with people. He was a longtime member of the Honorable Order of E Clampus Vitus (Clampers)and served as the Grand Noble Humbug of the Squibob Chapter in 1984.
He will be remembered for his integrity, humility, compassion, friendliness and ready smile!

Funeral service will be Monday, March 21, at 11 AM at Goodbody Mortuary, 5027 El Cajon Blvd., San Diego, preceded by a Rosary at 10:30 AM.
A reception celebrating his life will follow.
