She was born November 27, 1923 in Zhong Shan prefecture in the village of Sun Ton, China. As a young lady, she attended St. Rose Middle School. Yvonne married George Woo on November 29, 1948 in Hong Kong. In December of 1948 she immigrated to the United States under the War Bride Act. They were married 23 years, until 1971 when George passed away.

For 20 years, she owned and operated Taipei Gardens on Convoy Street where she introduced dim sum (Chinese dumplings) to San Diego. She enjoyed playing mahjong and being with her customers, friends, and family – especially her grandchildren.
Yvonne is survived by her five children, their spouses – Alton (Gloria), Duncan (Yuki), Veda (Steve), Mark (Gloria), Damon (Bing Fen) and 13 grandchildren.
Services for Yvonne will be held at El Camino Memorial in Sorrento Valley on July 26 at 11:30am. Guests are welcome to come from 10:30am for visitation.
