Andrea R. Pinskeyruffin

Andrea R. Pinskeyruffin, 58, of San Francisco, California, and formerly of Fostoria, went to be with our Lord and Savior at 1:15 am on Monday, January 30, 2017 at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in San Francisco.

She was born to the late Thomas R. Pinskey and Joni (Jackson) Pinskey. Her mother survives her in Fostoria. She married Thomas D. Ruffin, III in 1987, and he survives her in San Francisco.

Andrea was a strong advocate for her community determined to face social injustices head on. Outside of this passion, she enjoyed laughing, painting, poetry, and spending time with family and close friends.

She was a 1977 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and later obtained an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice and Nursing from Terra State Community College, both located in Fremont, OH. In 2011, she obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Phoenix. Andrea worked as an Administrative Coordinator at Berkley University in Berkley, California. As an extension of her formal education, she gave administrative training at California Pacific University in Pinole, California. She was a self-taught comedian and a wonderful singer and writer.

Cherishing Andrea’s memory are her two daughters, Syanara Harris, of Virginia, and Aimee Pitre, of California; two step-sons, Julius Ruffin, of Fremont, California, and Daniel Ruffin, of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren, Drusilla Ruffin, Andrew Ruffin, Julius Ruffin, Jr., Jeremiah Ruffin, Brianna Ruffin and five sisters, Toni Pinskey, of Tampa, Florida, Janelle Pinskey, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lola (Don) Treadwell, of Streetsboro, Ohio, Cheryl Bryson, of Toledo, Ohio, and Diana (David) Patton, of Maumee, Ohio. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Damon Pinskey.

A memorial service will take place beginning at 2 p.m. on February 17, 2017 at Bethel Baptist Church, Fostoria. Memorial contributions may be considered to the Damon Pinskey Scholarship Fund at St. Wendelin.
