Anthony "Tony" Schiariti

Beloved son of the late Domenica and Ferdinando Schiariti. Loving husband of the late LaVerne Schiariti for 49 years and proud father of the late Anthony P. Schiariti. A native San Franciscan, born and raised in North Beach/Telegraph Hill, Tony attended Garfield Grammar School, Francisco Junior High and graduated Galileo High School in 1937. Survived by cousins Lorraine Barsotti, Dorothy Daniele and the late Josephine Rossi. Fiercely independent, Tony was an entrepreneur and plumber for over 20 years. He had a lifelong passion for real estate and baseball and often recited the following: "Do not walk ahead of me, I may not follow. Do not walk behind me, I may not lead. Walk beside me and be my friend" and "A good and true friend is hard to find. When you find him or her, let them know". A Visitation will be held on Monday from 6pm with a Vigil Service at 6:30pm at Halsted N. Gray – Carew & English, 1123 Sutter St., SF. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 9:15am at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 2320 Green St., SF, followed by entombment at Italian Cemetery, Colma, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Anthony Schiariti Basketball Fund at University of San Francisco or Hospice by the Bay
