

Dan Shiu Young Passed away peacefully on June 19, 2014 at the age of 91. Beloved husband to Chin May Yoke Lee for over 60 years. Loving father to Rita (Joe Thome), Calvin, Donna (Ben Owyoung), Julie, Edmund (Betty), Howard (Leila), and Joanne; devoted grandfather to Justin (Vanna) Thome and Lucas (Cristin) Thome, Patrick (Emma) Owyoung, Everett (Christina) Owyoung, Kimberly, Ryan, Christopher, Rodell, Jonathan, and Jeffrey; and great-grandfather to Madeleine. Beloved uncle to Johnny Chan and Hoover Chan.
He will be remembered for opening the first restaurant on the bridge of Kinokuniya Mall in Japan Town in the 1970's. He was devoted to his family, loved to cook, perform martial art moves, and had the ability to greet people in many languages. He enjoyed watching Chinese Operas, and martial art movies, listening to Frank Sinatra music, and loved singing.
