Donna Francesconi

Donna O’Neil Francesconi, 91, of San Francisco, California, passed away on July 17th, 2024.

Donna was born in 1932 to her parents John Kenneth Carr and Frances Gayle Carr, and as a young child survived the Great Depression in rural Wisconsin. Donna attended the University of Wisconsin for her undergrad, before completing a Masters of Social Work at Fresno State University. Donna had a full and rewarding career as a social worker in San Francisco, eventually retiring in order to devote her time and energy to saving feral kittens.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents John Kenneth Carr and Frances Carr Bradbury; her brother Jack Carr, husband Giulio Francesconi, and step-son Mark Francesconi. She is survived by her children Scott O’Neil, Patrick O’Neil, and Elizabeth O’Neil; step-son Dan Francesconi, and her sister Ruth Garbarino.

A private interment of her ashes will be held at the San Francisco Columbarium. In lieu of flowers please send a donation in Donna's name to San Francisco Animal Care and Control or the animal rescue/welfare agency of your choice.
