Frederick H. Swanson

Fred Swanson loved and was deeply loved by an extended family. He is survived by his loving spouse Virginia Swanson, her three adult children, 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, Over the course of their 50 year marriage he raised as "Papa" two children, Brian and Brenda, and two grandchildren Michelle and Luke. He also became "Papa" and helped raise as family members in his home two additional grandchildren Angelica and Brittney. Through his immense love for people and community he became a Permanent Deacon in the Catholic Church and Pastoral counselor. Over the course of 20 years he served as Deacon for Good Shepherd Church in Pacifica and St. Dominic's Church in San Francisco. He was a person blessed with a profound personal loving relationship with Jesus, and he shared that love through his service to others and in the twinkle of his beautiful baby blue eyes. His final wishes were to have a simple loving and joyful service at St. Dominic's church. He was a happy person!!! He wanted everyone to share his joy and to sing simple songs of praise at his service. His final message in life that he wanted read to his loved ones is as follows:

"I love all of you, and will continue to pray for you and support you any way I can. I ask you to continue to pray for me. We will meet again!"

Services will be held Thursday September 8, 2016, at St. Dominic's Church, Bush & Steiner Streets, beginning with recitation of the Rosary at 10AM and celebration of the Funeral Mass at 11AM. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma CA
