Gaetano and family 
As I play back the many memories of you and your family living at Taylor Street in NorthBeach, I will never forget your calmness and big smile.  One of the many memories was having conversations sitting on the front stairs of the building, speaking in the Sicilian dialect,  with the warmth of the sun at our feet with your dad and mine.

I became friends with Gaetano in 2017 when we both started our 'retirement' job with the Giants working on the groundscrew.  Gaetano was nice, kind, funny, witty and warm right from the start.  I only worked with him 10 times or so but I will miss him dearly.

I remember Gaetano and Cyndi showing up at Lodi Memorial Hospital when my mom broke her hip--they didn't ask what they could do, or if they could visit. They came. They supported our family. They didn't even think twice about driving two hours to see mom for just a few minutes. They supported us. They shared in our worries.  They were our family.  Gaetano  was always there for you, quietly yet strongly present, with a kindness and compassion I have rarely seen.  And Cyndi, forever by his side.

Gaetano,

We will remember you planting and tending your garden. How excited you’d get with the favas or the fresh peas. And how lucky we were to get your pasta with those peas. You were such a good guy, always smiling and joking,  wondering why “the spaniard” got to hang out with his kids while you labored around the house. Cannot believe you are gone. Rest in peace, friend. 

My condolences to the family of Gaetano. He and I played soccer together for four years at Sacred Heart High School.  I will miss my Sicilian Italian brother on the field and his great smile.  My brother Eddie Riedel got mentored by Gaetano when my brother played varsity in his sophomore year with us.  We will miss our soccer buddy and classmate of 81'.

We have been neighbors for more than 30 years. We really enjoyed watching your family grow through the years and are completely devastated and saddened to hear about Gaetano's passing. Gaetano was such a kind soul and an all-around good guy. Always brought smiles to our faces when he looked so excited when wearing his soccer jersey. Your family has always watched out for our well being, as we will always do in return. Rest in peace - you will never be forgotten.

Dear cous, our talks were cut short but the memories will live on and I do believe you will too.   Thank you for being "you".  Like I told you not too long ago, you'll be a hard act to follow amongst all of us cousins!  Always the voice of reason, calm and fairness with some mischievousness mixed in there! I was glad I got to speak to you for a few minutes on November 5th Gaetano. You have been a fantastic friend for over 3 decades also a fine co worker also. Gaetano, from the first time I met you at MFCT Coffee Co., there was an immediate connection between you, me and my brother Dave. We were three brothers. I will forever cherish that meeting and our friendship. I already miss you terribly. Rest in peace dear friend. We love you.

I will miss you, and the coffee in the mornings, lunches at your mothers and North Beach. Most of all your friendship. I believe in life after death, and someday we will see each other again. Peace be with you.

Safe travels Gae,
We are going to miss you more than words.  We had fun times and fabulous meals.  You loved cooking and you were an amazing cook.  We will always see you in the kitchen meticulously prepping and preparing your meals with Cin right behind you doing the clean up!  We can see you on a couch after a meal sound asleep.  It didn’t matter where you were you could take a nap and sleep for hours.   Your grin will be the memory we take with us forever.   You earned your wings and can now be at peace.
