

Gaetano was born in Palermo Sicily Italy and would spend his early childhood living in the small town of Porticello. His family moved to San Francisco in 1973 living in North Beach and attending Saint Peter's and Paul, graduating high school from Sacred Heart Cathedral. He would later marry his best friend "Cin", continue living in San Francisco where they raised their three boys and still reside. Gaetano retired after a 32 year career with UPS as a driver. He was a fierce competitive soccer player on the field and off the field a die hard AC Milan fan. He was well versed in the arts, and loved music and film. His aka, Sudok, short for sudoku, was his favorite peaceful pass time. He was so proud of his boys and loved every moment he spent with his grand children. He was admired for his kind, gentle, calm demeanor and his love and dedication to his family. Gaetano passed peacefully surrounded by his family and friends after a fierce battle with Cancer. "Pops" to his boys, will be forever missed. Beloved wife of Cynthia D'Amato; loving father of Moe Arnaiz (Desiree), Pietro and Andrea D'Amato; cherished son of Grazia and the late Pietro D'Amato; loving brother of Antonino (Jeannie) and Salvatore D'Amato; dear uncle of Jake, Nico & Gracie D'Amato and many other nieces and nephews and relatives who adored him!
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Monday November 15, 2021 at 10:30 am at Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 666 Filbert St., San Francisco, CA 94133.
