John de Leon

John de Leon, a native of San Francisco, better known as “JD,” was born on October 26, 1970, and passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

John was a devoted father to Jade de Leon, a doting grandfather to Stella Rose Salumbides, and a beloved brother to Arlene de Leon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Amado de Leon. He was a cherished cousin and loyal friend, remembered for his warmth, humor, generosity, and the love he extended so freely to those around him.

Through hard work, dedication, and perseverance, John built a respected career in the painting industry, rising to the role of foreman and earning admiration for his skill, leadership, and strong work ethic.

John found joy in life’s simple pleasures—cruising in classic cars, riding motorcycles, fishing, playing video games, and spending time with his tight-knit family and loyal pets. He especially loved Ocean Beach and island life, drawn to the calm beaches, open air, and slower coastal rhythms. A true foodie, he enjoyed cooking, sharing meals, watching golf, and cheering on the San Francisco 49ers.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the San Francisco Columbarium, 1 Lorraine Court, San Francisco, California. Words of remembrance will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a memorial ride-out through the city he loved.
