

Keith B. Vines Retired San Francisco Assistant District Attorney, died on February 9 of complications from AIDS at his home in San Francisco. He was 61 years old. Keith was born in Bridgeport, CT and raised in Gales Ferry, CT. Keith is a graduate of the University of Miami and Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. Keith served as a Judge Advocate in the US Air Force, achieving the rank of Captain. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation medal and the Air Force meritorious service medal. Keith lived in San Francisco since 1983 and spent a long career as an Assistant District Attorney, including serving as a trial attorney assigned to the Federal Narcotics Strike Force and later to the mental health unit. Keith received a special Champion of the People commendation from the San Francisco District Attorney's office for dedicated and exemplary service when he retired in 2004. Keith's parents, Donald and Sally Vines, and his brother Bill predecease him. Keith's survivors include his son Brian, daughter-in-law SarahBeth, three grandchildren JT, Daniel and Samuel of Homewood, AL, brothers Don of Rehoboth Beach, DE, and Jeff of Pt. Richmond, CA; sister Sally Dugan of Larkspur, CA; five nephews, four nieces and many other relatives and friends.
