
M Pearl Eaton of San Francisco passed away on September 11, 2016. Her parents Julia Etta Justice and James Henry Carney, one brother Emmet Carney, and two sisters Mae (Jim) Shipman of Gainesville, FL and Maxine (HD) Ellis of Memphis, TN precede her in death. She is survived by three sisters Waydene (Ben) Byrd of Sycamore, Il, Geraldine Balthrop of Jacksonville, FL, and Frances Parkerson (Joe Mitchell) of Jacksonville, FL. and by one brother James (Patricia) Carney of Chapmansboro, TN. She moved from Tennessee to Los Angeles in 1947 and then to San Francisco in 1952. She worked at the Federal Reserve Bank and retired after 43 years of service. She regularly attended the 25th century galas held each year for Federal Reserve employees with 25+ years of service. She was once a member of the Lakeside Presbyterian Church group and of the Ambassador’s at Calvary Presbyterian Church. She was a former member of the Breakfast Club at the Fairmont Hotel, Nob Hill. In earlier years she was a volunteer for the San Francisco SPCA. She loved animals and had many beloved cats over the years. The last of which was Bennie. She was a member of the ACBI bridge league and enjoyed playing bridge with several groups. She was a current member of the California Club. She was loved and will be missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of M Pearl Eaton to the San Francisco SPCA or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Arrangements are by San Francisco Columbarium & Funeral Home in San Francisco. The family plans to have a private service at a later date and scatter her ashes at sea.
