

Mary Catherine Crowley passed into eternal life at home in the loving arms of her family on January 14, 2014. Always optimistic Mary met the challenges of her illness with grace. Her unwaivering faith sustained she and her family especially in her final days.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband Michael E Crowley of 23 years. 3 children she shared with Al Lovi:
Mark (Janis) Lovi, Laura Wester, and Linda (Arnie) Prien.
9 Fine Grandsons:
Nicholas Lovi, Jeffrey Wester, Bryan Wester, Matthew Lovi, Andrew Wester, Michael Prien, Christopher Love, Cory Prien, and Elliott Prien all of the Bay Area
Mary's brother Ernie (Mary Anne) Babbage of Santa Rosa, CA and sister, Vicki (Kevin) Vierra of Tracey CA, and many nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in San Francisco, CA, Mary was a graduate of Mary Star of the Sea. An active member of the alumni association she will be missed this June when her class celebrates it's 60th class reunion.
Mary enjoyed her ministry as at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in San Francisco where she and Michael have many good friends that have supported them during these difficult months.
Mary raised her family here and enjoyed being both a mother and grandmother.
She is remembered for the years she spent as the registrar at the children's school.
Mary found gratifying work with the Diocese of San Francisco for many year where she met our celebrate today Bishop John Wester who officiated over Michael and Mary's marriage at the Cathedral 23 years ago.
An affable good sport Mary was fun loving with a beautiful smile that could always win the day. She and Michael were wonderful to spend time with and left everything just a little better for their having shared in the experience.
Mary's eye for beauty carried over into every thing she did. She is remembered by her family for the special events she planned for their special times throughout her life.
Mary loved flowers. She knew all their names and often said flowers are a testimony to God's love for us.
Mary leaves a legacy of love and friendship to all who knew her.
Friends are welcome for visitation from 4 to 8 PM, Wednesday, January 15, with Vigil Service at 7PM at Halsted N. Gray - Carew & English, 1123 Sutter Street, SF. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM, Thursday, January 16, at Saint Vincent de Paul Church, 2320 Green Street at Steiner, San Francisco. Interment will be private.
