I was fortunate enough to have met Russell at the hospital where I work when he was admitted. I was grateful when he agreed to allow me to continue visiting him in hospice. Russell had a beautiful soul and an infectious smile. He had some struggles in his past but was able to reflect back thoughtfully and genuinely about his role in and his feelings about them. Russell confided in me, if things had gone differently for him in life, he would have loved to have settled down with a partner and have a little girl. He fondly spoke about how he would spoil his daughter and buy her a BMW when she turned 16 years old. I will never forgot Russell and the time we spent together and hope he is at peace now.
