Shirley Mondaine was born on November 24, 1936 in Brentwood, Missouri. At the age of 6 or 7 she and her family moved to San Francisco in the early 1940s and settled in the Western Addition. Growing up she attended public school until her senior year, and graduated from Mission High School in 1955.
She met and married Henry W Jones in Reno Nevada 1958. The following year, they became parents for the first time Adrienne, then Valerie, then Julianne, Jefferie. Our Mother became a housewife and stayed home while our father worked two jobs and attended school to support the family.
our parents provided a good life for us and instilled discipline and morals which were a crucial part of our upbringing that shaped us into becoming strong, conscientious, thoughtful, loving people. Our Mother was Methodist and attended Jones Methodist Church frequently on Sundays as she found much joy and spiritual enlightenment throughout her attendance.
Shirley Jones worked for Wells Fargo in many departments, then worked for KPMG as a Executive Administrative Assistant until her retirement.
Shirley was a social butterfly and had many friends from all walks of life. She was knowledgeable about subjects and spoke with confidence and conviction. Her hobbies were bowling, clothes shopping, puzzles, card games and music just to name a few.
Our Mother would sometimes come home and surprise us with little gifts and trinkets that were one of a kind. She despised cheapness and had very expensive taste.
Shirley Jones was a true testament of strength and wisdom. She always encouraged us to think for ourselves, be creative, innovative and to never become a follower.
She is a survivor of four children, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two brothers, Danny Mondaine and Jules Mondaine.
Mom, we will miss you! We love you!
