

She spent her early years living in Lowell, MA where she was a 1984 graduate of Keith Hall. She graduated from Boston University in 1988 with a degree in Business. While at BU, she was a clarinet player with the BU Marching Band and she played during halftime at a Patriots game and marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. In 1992, Stefanie moved to San Francisco, CA.
Stefanie is survived by her sister Alison J. Carroll, her aunt Linda Carroll, and her cousins Elizabeth (Sharkey) Quinn and her husband Steven, Linda Sharkey and her wife Heather Quinn, Matthew Williams and his wife Holly Cukier, Caroline (Williams) Lewis and her husband Michael, and Christopher Williams and his wife Stephanie Akl. Stefanie is also survived by many cousins.
Stefanie was predeceased by her parents, Robert D. Carroll and Lorraine K. (Taga) Carroll, her grandparents Thomas and Elizabeth Carroll and Phillip and Julia Taga, as well as many aunts and uncles.
Stefanie was a loving aunt to countless children and a loyal friend to countless more.
Stefanie was an avid sports fan and a loyal fan to all Boston teams. She loved to travel and cherished all her trips to many places around the world including Italy, Jamaica, an African safari and many more.
She loved Bruce Springsteen and traveled the world to see him, most recently in July in Monza, Italy. Stef loved to sing and would burst into song when a favorite came on the radio. She was a loyal friend and always found joy in her friend’s accomplishments and happiness. She will be missed greatly.
Celebrations of life will be planned at a later date in both San Francisco and Massachusetts. Donations can be made in Stefanie’s name to the American Cancer Society.
