
He retired in 1988 as Director of Real Estate Finance from Prudential Insurance Company of America, after serving for years in their Real Estate Investment Department. He was an avid sports fan and participant, and he and his wife traveled to all parts of the world after he retired.
Mr. Blodgett was born in S.F. but moved with his family to Burlingame soon after, and he graduated from Burlingame High School and attended San Mateo Junior College.
He was called to active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1940 . During WW II he was attached to the Second Marine Division in the Pacific Theater and participated in the invasions of the Island of Saipan and Okinawa. He was discharged in 1947 with the rank of Master Sgt.
He is survived by his beloved wife Sandra Ann; daughters Nancy(Paul) Hegness of Irvine, CA., and Marsha (Michael) of Lake Oswego, OR; grandchildren, Tracy, Jeffrey and Matthew, and great-grandchildren, Gracie and Cameron; and beloved dogs, Jessie and the late Puddles and Muffin.
Private family services were held at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon , Ca. Contributions may be made to the Marine's Memorial Club or the SPCA.
