It is with deep sadness that the family of William Joseph McPartland announces his death on October 6, 2012.
Bill was a proud native of San Francisco, born on April 23, 1938. He attended Sacred Heart High School class of '57 and served in the United States Army in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. He was retired from City County of San Francisco and a long time employee at the San Francisco Airport. Bill was a faithful Giants and 49er fan. The horse races were his passion, which he enjoyed from his teens until the day he died.
He is survived by sons Michael and his wife Liza, Frank and his wife Katherine. He was the devoted grandfather of Patrick and Lauren, brother of Kathy and the late Charles and Robert, and brother-in-law of Jim Butler. He will be missed by his family and his many friends.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later time.
