Anna was born to Christina Madrid (Aguilar) Stewart and Ricardo E. Aguilar in El Paso, Texas. She married Jose Jaramillo, Sr. in El Paso, Texas on October 4, 1956. When Jose joined the Air Force, Anna traveled to the bases with him to live in family housing. Eventually, they settled in Los Angeles, California in the 1960's.
In her love for God, she attended church regularly and participated in church school activities. She would take joy in saying how a stranger insisted she apply for work at the US Postal Service where she ended up working for over 35 years as a clerk and union representative until her retirement. Anna felt this stranger was an angel because her work gave her the opportunity to send her children to private school. She also proudly served two years on the L.A. County Grand Jury.
Anna loved life. In addition to her responsibilities as a Mom, she enjoyed gardening in her yard, traveling, visiting casinos, singing, drawing, swimming, watching sports (especially the Dodgers) and celebrating holidays and birthdays. She loved having coffee and pan dulce in her back yard with her many friends who stopped by to visit.
Anna had five siblings: Laura, Ricardo (deceased), Inez, Licha (deceased) and Irene. She had five children: Joe Jr. (Elizabeth), Elizabeth Jaramillo Ledezma, Mike (Mary), Pete and John (deceased). She had 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She also had numerous nephews and nieces.
Anna passed away at her home of 50 years in Alhambra, California with her children and extended family by her side.
