Armando Viveros Jr.

Armando Viveros Jr. of Rosemead, California passed away after a very sudden decline in his health on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at home. Armando was only 76. He was born on November 8, 1948 in Los Angeles. Armando was predeceased by his parents Armando Viveros Sr. and Frances Renee Martinez. He grew up in Whittier and later the family moved to Montclair. He graduated from Monte Vista High School and attended Chaffey College.

Armando’s work history jumped around and included being a real estate agent, automobile store manager, long distance truck driver, and a jack of all trades. However, Armando was always drawn to the opportunity of becoming a peace officer. It seems that it really aligned perfectly with his passion and personality. He pursued his dream by starting off his 20-year career being employed by the California Department of Corrections, as a Correctional Officer at Calipatria State Prison, in Imperial County. He later transferred to the California Institution for Men (CIM), in Chino to be closer to his mother. Armando enjoyed traveling, RV camping, watching sports, and found comfort and peace in reading and just relaxing.

He is survived by his wife Alice, son James, stepchildren Rachel and Richard Campos, seven grandchildren, Ian, Dylan, David, Christopher, Brandon, Allen and Bianca and 10 great-grandchildren. His sister Anita (Myers), Renee (Viveros-Acevedo), George and Arthur and numerous nieces and nephews.

Armando, everyone you left in the world hates that you are gone; we'll miss your stubbornness, witty remarks and jokes with a deadpan look. But we are happy that you are home free and painless. We will always love and miss you until we can meet again.

Memorial service will be held at Pierce Bros. Turner and Stephen Mortuary. There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, May 20 from 6–7 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 21 at 11 a.m. followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery. 3 pm Repass at Luminares
