My memories of "la Sra. Virginia" are mostly from my childhood, as the "Bernal Clan" and my siblings and I grew up together (also, my parents, Hector and Norma, are Freddy's godparents). Many gatherings for birthdays and holidays and a lot of her delicious cooking (I especially liked the buñuelos). But one of the things that for me stands out the most is her caring nature and I was about 5 years old but, I still remember to this day, that on one of those birthday parties at Alhambra Park where, we would all be running around bare foot in our bathing suits having fun, I accidentally stepped on a hot charcoal bit. Needless to say how painful it was and the huge blister on the sole of my foot!!! But, "la Sra. Virginia" always had a home remedy, so she "treated" me and "patched me up" and I remember feeling very comforted and relieved.
My prayers for "el Compadre Rudy" and the whole family. With love, from PATY.

She would always tell me she made extra frijoles just for me because she knew how much I loved having something made by her. (Not to mention how delicious they were!)

She was so funny. My favorite thing she did was at one of the many parties at their home. She made 2 people (a male and a female) stay in the house while she kinda explained the rules to the rest of us... She put down 10 raw eggs on the grass space about a foot or a little more apart, then had the first person come out. She cracked an egg in front of him, then blindfolded him and ask him to try to walk across without stepping on them... as he was starting to walk across, Dora went and collected ALL the eggs, but had everyone scream "watch out!!!" with every step the victim took.... and scream we did with every step! We all laughed so hard when the victim crossed the finish line and removed the blindfold, saw there were NO eggs anywhere and then was showed the bowl of eggs Dora collected... then onto the next victim!
She had that kinda humor. Man, I'm going to miss her .
Thank you Sra. Dora for including me in your family. Que Dios bendiga a su familia y los consuele sabiendo que esta ud. con El. ❤❤
