December 26, 1960 – February 10, 2025
With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Eddie Gonzales, a husband, father, and grandfather who fought bravely until the very end. Born on December 26, 1960, to Thomas and Arlene Gonzales, Eddie was a man of quiet strength, fierce loyalty, and a deep love for his family. He lived life on his own terms, never swayed by expectations, always staying true to who he was.
Eddie wasn’t one for the spotlight, but his presence spoke louder than words. He found joy in life’s simple moments—being with family, sharing a laugh, and embracing the little pleasures, like the occasional gamble for the thrill of it. He married Helen who he loved so much, and together they raised their three children—Serena, Eddie, and Jacob. He was a proud father and an even prouder grandfather to six grandchildren, who brought him joy.
Eddie was also a beloved brother to Lorraine, Tommy, Jerry, and Frankie, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories.
He wasn’t given the nickname “Grumpy” for no reason, but despite his grumpy ways, Eddie loved with his whole heart. His sharp mind, stubborn will, and quiet kindness showed that even when his gruff exterior appeared, his heart was always in the right place. Eddie bravely battled cancer, facing the fight with the same determination and courage that defined his life. Even when life became difficult, he never backed down.
Eddie will be remembered for his strength, his unwavering loyalty, his unique sense of humor, and the quiet love he gave in his special way. His presence will be sorely missed, but his spirit lives on in the family he cherished.
In honor of his memory, the family asks that instead of flowers, you take a moment to appreciate the ones you love—something Eddie wished for everyone. As he would say, “Love and enjoy one another.”
