Eunice “Delores” McQuade (nee Stanfill) at 88 joyfully made her way through the Pearly Gates of Heaven on Friday morning April 25, 2014 at 10:24 AM. She was reunited with her pastor husband of 69 years who preceded her 14 months earlier. Delores was born to Vernice Mae and Neil Stanfill and raised in Jackson, TN. “Momma” McQuade, as she was called by so many, loved Jesus and her family with all of her heart. She taught a weekly woman’s Bible study for decades, spoke at women’s retreats, and was a servant to just about everyone she met. Delores taught the children’s church each week at the churches they founded and worked diligently with the children's bus ministry for many years.
Delores is survived by her brother Harold Stanfill and by her 4 children, Kenneth, David and wife Beverly, Paul and wife Nancy, and Gayle and husband Donald Martin. She is also survived by 8 wonderful grandchildren, Shawna married to Neil McGee, Heather Martin-Stitik married to Paul Stitik, Justin McQuade married to Courtney, Shawn McQuade married to Aleida, Jennifer McQuade, Ryan McQuade, Daniel Martin and Jessica Martin. Delores is also survived by 6 (really) great grandchildren, Jessica, Celeste, Jackson, Harper, Kellen, and Elijah.
Delores’ husband Frank was a World War II veteran and a B-24 pilot and they married on the Air Force base in Mt. Home, Idaho in 1944. Together Frank and Delores founded two churches, Franklin Lakes Baptist Church in Franklin Lakes, NJ, and Fellowship Baptist Church in Glen Mills, PA. They spent their early retirement years in Haddonfield, NJ. They then moved to Atherton Baptist Homes in Alhambra, CA and lived there for 11 years. Like her faithful husband Frank, Delores was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ to the end of her journey here on earth.
