Board & Care facility in Pasadena, California.
Harold was born October 7, 1931, the oldest of 2 children born to
Arthur and Amelia Schaus in Lone Oak, Minnesota. The family
moved to Maywood, California, in 1942. The following year, his
father died suddenly. Harold graduated from Bell High School,
attended trade school, and went to work at Owen Roofing company
as a bookkeeper. He served his country in the U.S. Army during
the Korean War. He retired from Owen Roofing in 1992.
On July 5, 1969, he married Sharon Hendrikson. Their 24 year
marriage was blessed with 2 children. Sharon passed away in 1993.
Sharon and Harold were long time members at Emmaus Lutheran
Church in Alhambra, California.
Harold was a private man who enjoyed fishing, playing chess, stamp
collecting, and listening to old records. Faith was important to Harold,
and he will be remembered for his love of family, fishing, & friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Amelia and his wife
Sharon. Survivors include his sons, Maynard Schaus & his wife Kathy,
and Maurice Schaus and his wife Kelly Taylor-Schaus;
his brother Marvin Schaus and his wife Shirley; five grandchildren,
as well as by extended family & friends.
