Isela Medrano was born on November 4, 1936, in El Paso, Texas, and lived a life defined by love, joy, and deep devotion to family. She was the beloved widow of Louie J. Medrano and a guiding light to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Isela was a devoted mother to her daughters Lily, Jackie, Gloria, and Michelle. For 58 years, she made her home in San Gabriel, where she created a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, celebration, and unconditional love. Her home was always a place of warmth, welcome, and togetherness.
Isela had a beautiful spirit and a heart that knew no strangers. She had a rare gift of making everyone feel seen and valued, always greeting people with kindness, conversation, and genuine care—whether she had known them for years or had just met them moments before. Her loving nature touched countless lives, and her presence brought comfort and joy wherever she went.
She found happiness in the things she loved most: celebrating the holidays surrounded by family, dancing, listening to Mexican music, watching her favorite novelas, and admiring butterflies. She had a passion for clothes, enjoyed traveling, and embraced life with style, grace, and enthusiasm.
Isela worked for many years in the linen industry, including at Cecil Saydah and later at Barth & Dreyfuss, where she served as a supervisor. In 1998, she retired to dedicate herself fully to the role she treasured most—being a full-time grandmother.
She is survived by two daughters, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry her love, strength, and spirit forward.
Isela Medrano will be remembered for her boundless love, her welcoming heart, and the way she made everyone feel like family. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, connection, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and never forgotten.
