Uncle Jim was loving and dependable. He arrived every Wednesday, rain or shine, to visit with my mother and go out to dinner.  My cousins were blessed with a really great Dad and he was one of a group of wonderful aunties & uncles!

Mr. Buttrey was kind man and patient neighbor who always put up with the 8 busy kids across the street. He never said a mean word to us even though we probably deserved it. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Larry, Kathy and Billy.

We grew up in a great neighborhood and one of those reasons was the friendship and camaraderie with the Buttrey Family.  Mr. Buttrey, Larry, Billy, and Kathy were all so kind to me until I moved out of the neighborhood in the mid-1980's.  Mr. Buttrey was kind, friendly -- I never heard an angry word -- just friendly and interested in what our family was all doing.  We had a great neighborhood and Mr. Buttrey was one of the reasons for that. Condolences to his children and all those that are in need of comfort.

I grew up across the street from Mr Buttrey. He was always kind to the kids running around the street. My prayers for your family

He truly was kind and generous, a wonderful neigbor to have for so many years. I have very fond memories of him and max. May he rest in peace. Larry, Billy and Kathy you had a wonderful father, take comfort in his life and legacy!

Having just visited with Uncle Jim a few months ago makes it even harder to say goodbye. But we wouldn't have traded that time for the world. In my youth, I knew him as a calm, caring, and loving man. He just got better with age. Rest in Peace, Uncle "Flash" and thank you.

I felt so loved by this lovely man. So lucky to have him in my life. I will be eternally grateful.

Wishing peace and sincere condolence to my friend Kathy and her family on a very difficult loss.

A dear friend sent this to me after my father's death:
"The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not 'get over' the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will heal and you will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again, but you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same, nor should you want to."

Love you, Dad! I will miss you but I will carry our wonderful times together in my heart. Your love for us all was astonishing in its depth and breadth and I am basking in it. We will see each other again!
