Rogelio Malabanan Nazareth or “Ogie” as he was called in childhood and “Roger” as he was known in the U.S. was born on the 20th of October 1935 in Canlubang Laguna to Dalmacio Opulencio Nazareth and Nicanora Malabanan Nazareth. He was one of 4 surviving siblings: Erlinda, Arturo (who died in 1993), and Dennis. Their father died when Rogelio was 9 years old, and he helped his single mother raise the smaller children and to build her business.
He attended high school and then continued his university studies at Mapua Institute of Technology, graduating with an electrical engineering degree. He worked at General Electric Appliance Company until he immigrated to the United States in August 1969.
Rogelio reunited with Jory who had immigrated earlier that year. In Los Angeles he secured a job as an assistant engineer. The longest period of his employment was with C.F. Braun where he designed petrochemical plant electrical systems.
Over the years, Roger and Jory petitioned and helped establish Nazareth and Noche siblings in their immigration to the United States.
After retirement in 1994, Roger and Jory enjoyed traveling. In 1998, they moved to Las Vegas prompted by the holy spirit to help people spiritually. They established an Eternal Father prayer group for conversion and devotion. This group at its most active had 70 members. In parallel, on the weekends they promoted devotion to the Blessed Mother, taking the Rosa Mystica statue to different homes for one-week periods.
Due to poor health and to be closer to family, they gave up their missionary work and returned to Los Angeles in 2018 for a quiet life of retirement.
