Shirley Kimiko Duran

With profound sadness and unwavering love, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Shirley Kimiko Duran, who peacefully entered the arms of our Lord on July 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Shirley was a woman whose kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a heart that welcomed others without judgment, a smile that could brighten even the darkest day, and a love that made everyone around her feel like family. Whether through a comforting word, a warm embrace, or a simple act of kindness, Shirley lived a life dedicated to caring for others.

She found one of her greatest joys in cooking and baking for those she loved. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where family and friends were always welcomed with a warm meal, homemade treats, and unconditional love. She believed that sharing food was one of the purest ways to show her love, and every meal she prepared carried a piece of her heart. The memories made around her table and the recipes she lovingly shared will be cherished by her family for generations to come.

Shirley was also an extraordinary grandmother and great-grandmother who treasured every moment she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved them with all her heart and found immense joy in watching them grow, celebrating their accomplishments, and creating special memories they will carry with them forever. Her gentle guidance, warm hugs, endless patience, and unconditional love made her a source of comfort and happiness in their lives. To them, she was more than a grandmother and great-grandmother—she was a safe place, a role model, and one of their greatest blessings.

For 25 wonderful years, she was a cherished and devoted wife, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. She was the heart of her family, always putting the needs of those she loved before her own. Her strength, courage, and unwavering faith carried her through life’s greatest challenges and became an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

Even during her illness, Shirley demonstrated incredible grace and resilience. She reminded those around her what true strength looked like, facing each day with dignity, hope, and love. Before her passing, Shirley accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior, bringing great peace and comfort to both her and her family. We find comfort knowing she is no longer suffering and is now resting in the eternal presence of the Lord.

Shirley leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory and carry her love in their hearts. She is survived by her devoted husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends whose lives were forever changed by her love and generosity.

Although our hearts are broken by her absence, we rejoice knowing that Heaven has welcomed a beautiful soul. Her legacy of love, faith, compassion, selflessness, the warmth she shared through her cooking and baking, and the unconditional love she poured into her family—especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren—will continue to live on through every life she touched.

Though we will miss her every day, we find peace in knowing that this is not goodbye—it is simply, “Until we meet again.”
