

Alan Earl Carmain
July 1, 1954 - December 6, 2015
Alan passed away suddenly on December 6th, 2015 at home in San Jose, while his
wife, Pamela, was with him. He was born in Topeka, Kansas, the second son of Howard and Allene(Mears)Carmain. The family moved to San Jose, CA.in 1962 where he was raised and lived most all of his life except for 2 years he spent in Sydney, Australia.
Alan is survived by his wife, Pam and his brothers, Gary(Antelope,CA.) and Danny. Uncles David Mears (Karen), and Larry Mears (Linda), and aunts Mary Ellen Mears, and Mary Mears, along with numerous cousins.
He went to Camden High School where he wrote a weekly column for the school newspaper.then on to West Valley JC and did the same thing. He graduated from SJSU with a degree in Advertising. Alan started working in the pool and patio furniture industry in high school and was currently a store manager at American Leisure Company in San Jose.
After all these years he never lost his enthusiasm for what he called “helping people”. He loved to take time to listen to his customers and then use his expertise to advise them.
Alan enjoyed going to A’s and Giants ballgames as well as Sharks games and was always up for taking in a movie or two.He loved traveling and exploring new places with the love of his life, his wife, Pamela.
Alan Carmain was a hard-working, thoughtful, caring, kind soul of a man who took after his father. Always greeting you with a smile, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him and will live on forever in our hearts.
A private cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to honor Alan’s life at a celebration service on Thursday, December 17th at 11am in the Chapel at Cathedral of Faith - 2315 Canoas Garden Ave., San Jose, CA. 95125
