A native son and lifelong resident of San Jose, Alan passed peacefully at home after a valiant two-year battle with brain cancer.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl, son Matthew, step-son Michael, his siblings Frank, Jim (Stacey), Diana (Mark) and Marissa as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Angie.
Alan was a humble man, devoted to his family and friends, always willing to help those in need. At a young age he joined the family business AAA Furnace founded by his father in 1957. His dedication and hard work transformed it into a highly respected and dependable company well known throughout the valley. He was known for his work in mobile home parks, and his personal attention to his customers, particularly the elderly, and those of modest means. Alan also had a true passion for commercial fishing.
A viewing will be held from 3pm until 9pm with prayer at 7pm on Monday, Sept. 22nd at Willow Glen Funeral Home, 1039 Lincoln Ave, San Jose. Funeral mass to be held on Tuesday, Sept. 23rd at 9:30am at St. Christopher Church, 1576 Curtner Ave, San Jose. Burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
