

Angel Gonzalez Madrid was born to Jesus Madrid and Dorotea (Gonzalez) Madrid on Oct. 2, 1934, in Carlsbad, New Mexico (NM).
At the age of 19, Angel joined the army. He served his country from 1953 to 1955 in Alaska, where he was stationed. He was trained as a sharp-shooter (sniper today) and he also learned to ski cross-country. After leaving the army and returning home, he worked in a gas station where he learned to work on cars.
Angel met and married Eloise Margo Rodriguez in Carlsbad, NM, where they lived until moving to Dinuba, CA, around 1960. By 1965 they had moved to Fresno, CA. Then in 1970, they moved to San Jose, CA.
In San Jose, Angel was head school custodian with Santa Clara County until he retired at age 62. After the passing of Eloise, Angel remained in San Jose until 2004. He then moved back to Fresno where he enjoyed his final years. They had six children: Patricia, Dennis Angel, Veronica, Louis Rodriguez, Melissa, and James Paul.
He is preceded in death by his parents Dorotea (Gonzalez) Madrid and Jesus Madrid; wife Eloise (Rodriguez) Madrid; siblings Maria (Madrid) Franco of Carlsbad, NM, Jose and Manuel Madrid, of Carlsbad, NM; grandson Aaron; step granddaughter Serena; great grandson Noah.
Angel leaves behind two sisters: Lilly (Madrid) Saiz of Carlsbad, NM and Violeta (Madrid) Alvarado of Modesto, CA; a brother Ynocente Madrid of CA; his children and their spouses: Patricia and Jerry Valdez of Manteca, CA; Dennis Angel and Georgeann Madrid of Oakley, CA; Veronica and Tony Cipponeri of Ripon, CA; Louis Rodriguez and Yvette Madrid of Madera, CA; Melissa and Luis Orozco of Modesto, CA; James Paul and Lena Madrid of Clovis, CA. Forty grand and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service April 9, 2022 11 am. No reception. Celebration of Life at a later date.
