Angelica Garza, a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in her home on June 12, 2024, surrounded by her adoring family. She was 82 years old.
Born on November 12, 1941, in La Rosita, Texas, to the late Nazario and Beatriz Ramirez. Angelica was a beacon of love and warmth to all who knew her. She moved from Texas to California in 1961 with the love of her life, Ubaldo Garza. They married in 1961 and shared 63 beautiful years together, creating a family filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Angelica dedicated more than 20 years of her life to working for Contadina tomatoes, as well as the Sorento cheese company. She was a dedicated and hardworking employee, respected and loved by all who worked with her. After retirement, she spent her time playing bingo and going to Cache Creek.
Angelica’s greatest joy was her family, whom she loved unconditionally. She was the heart of every family gathering, always ready with a warm hug, a listening ear, and words of wisdom. Her children, Nidia, Neomi, Negda, and Nelda, were her pride and joy, and she poured her heart into raising them with love, patience, and grace. Her nine grandchildren, Ashley, Felicia, Angelina, Leonard Anthony, Alexandrina, Nathaniel, Juliana, Adilene, and Dominic were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them from storytelling to cooking her famous tortillas together.
Angelica’s home was a sanctuary of love and comfort, a place where everyone felt welcomed and cherished. Her love for gardening, cooking, and her collection of elephants was evident in the beauty she created around her and the delicious meals she prepared. Her garden was a testament to her nurturing spirit, and her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of her latest culinary creations, made with love.
Angelica’s children, grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren miss her dearly. Her legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to inspire and guide those who knew her.
