Antonino “Tony” Sacci passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of love, faith, family, and friendship. He was the beloved husband of Vincenza “Virginia” “Enza” Sacci, with whom he shared more than 60 years of marriage.
Tony was born in San Nicola L’Arena, Sicily, born to Giacomo and Francesca Sacci, and came from a close-knit family of five children: Antonino “Tony”, Salvatrice “Tina”, Giuseppi “Joe”, Giuseppa “Josephine”, and Vincenza “Virginia”.
Tony met the love of his life, Vincenza, and the two were married on October 12, 1963, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in San Jose. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary before the passing of Vincenza. Together, Tony and Virginia built a life filled with love, laughter, travel, and devotion to one another. Although they did not have children of their own, they were loving parents and grandparents to many, sharing their generous hearts with family, friends, nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Tony was a fisherman for most of his life. He fished in Sicily and throughout the United States, especially in Monterey and in Alaska. He also worked for Frito-Lay for more than 30 years, and at Archbishop Mitti High School in San Jose. Whether on the water or at work, Tony was known for his strong work ethic, his love of the sea, and his ability to connect with people.
Tony and Virginia loved to travel and spent many happy years exploring the world together. Their travels took them to Italy, Spain, Switzerland, France, and many other countries in Europe. They also visited Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, Chicago, New York, Florida, Pennsylvania, and many other states. Tony and Virginia especially enjoyed cruises, where they loved being surrounded by family and friends. He was often the life of the party and treasured every opportunity to share good food, good company, and good memories.
Tony had a warm and giving spirit. He and Virginia welcomed everyone into their home, and their table was always open to family and friends. Together, they were active members of Holy Cross Parish, where Tony supported parish life and community celebrations alongside Virginia. He was proud of his Italian heritage and his Catholic faith.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a charitable donation be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society in remembrance of Antonino “Tony” Sacci’s life.
