Arlene Helen Bowie "Grammy"

Born in Tulare, CA, she was the daughter of Gus and Margaret Bejarno. She was long retired from Monsanto where she had worked as an accountant. She enjoyed many years of retirement living with Bob in Brentwood, CA and then moved to Oakley, CA after Bob’s passing. She also lived at Quail Lodge Retirement Home in Antioch, CA for a short time of 1 year, where she enjoyed the comradery of new friends. In July of 2019, she moved back in with her grandchildren Margaret and Daniel Smith. There she enjoyed watching her great grandsons grow into teenagers. She also loved to travel to sunny SoCal to visit one of her daughters when her health permitted. She will be remembered for her feisty and fun nature. She was the last living patriarch of this family. Grammy will definitely be missed beyond words.

Arlene is survived by her children, Marilyn Aguilar, John Gonzalez Sr. and Adella Logan, Her grandchildren, Richie Aguilar, Margaret Smith, Cindy Aguilar, Gina Farley, John Gonzalez, Paul Best, Arlena Bahn, Alivia Logan-Kumagai, Mary Gonzalez and Benjamin Gonzalez. Her 9 great grandchildren, Cydney Lopez, Aniece Gonzalez, Angelina Gonzalez, Daniel Smith Jr., Devin Smith, Hannah Farley, Gabriel Gonzalez and John Michael Bahn. She loved being with her family! Sadly, the Pandemic took its toll on her time spent with family. RIP MOM/NINA/GRAMMY!

The funeral services are by invitation only due to pandemic protocol. She will be laid to rest on February 20, 2021 at Oak Hill Funeral Memorial Park in San Jose, CA.
